Girls Cricket

If you would like to try a new sport why not try Girls’ Cricket? 

Northamptonshire County Cricket Club will be providing professional coaches for this two-day workshop during half-term at Thrapston Cricket Ground on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 June. 

This is for  both new and regular players.  All equipment will be provided  but please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water/soft drink.

Daisy Birthing

Bloom in pregnancy and blossom in birth ...

The Pemberton Centre will be running another six-week course of Daisy Birthing™ classes, in our upstairs Gallery area Wednesdays 7.30pm-9pm starting 6 June.

Daisy Birthing™ is a unique take on birth preparation.  We have taken the bits we love best from a range of more conventional techniques such as Pregnancy Yoga, Traditional Active Birthing, Birth Breathing Education, Birth Hypnosis and Birth Education and combined these into a 90 minute all embracing class which allows mums to learn as they move. 

Daisy Birthing™ is FEDANT approved and has helped more than 1500 mums to date.

We’re accessible for all mums, so not just the super bendy ones!  We’re safe for mums with pelvic girdle pain and we provide a community of like minded mums all wanting to talk about the positives of birth.

If you want to feel confident and comfortable through your pregnancy and fit for birth both physically and emotionally, we are the ideal pregnancy and birth preparation class for you!

Passing through more than one thousand communities the Olympic Flame will come within 10 miles of 95% of people in the UK, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey.  Visiting cities, towns and villages there will be some unusual methods of transport including horseback, steam train and even a zip wire.  The Olympic Torch arrives from Greece on Friday 18 May and Land’s End in Cornwall will provide the spectacular backdrop for the start of its journey on Saturday 19 May.

On Monday 2 July the Torch will pass through our county:  Northampton (10.21am), Wellingborough (11.23am), Isham (11.56am), Kettering (12.07pm), Geddington (2.02pm) and Corby (2.22pm).  For more details about its journey log on to www.london2012.com.
